************************************************* Here's another: I want to start by telling you, my wife and I have always done everything possible to always stay on top of our bills no matter what the situation was with my business. We have ALWAYS made our payments on time, even if over the years that meant scraping by, somehow we managed. We have been getting deeper and deeper in debt over the years and finally this year we hit the wall. After not being able to make the minimum payments on a couple of our credit cards on time, our interest rates were raised to unbelievable amounts, making the minimums then impossible to keep up with. And so the calls began. It's amazing to us that after being an upstanding cardholder for 30+ years, if you make one or two payments late, they not only are allowed to raise your interest rates to crazy amounts, but they actually start calling you and harassing you. My daughter saw a program about [debt resolution] one day after we finally told her the depth of our situation. She suggested we give you a call and at least check it out. It sounded great and you were so comforting to us at this difficult time. So we enrolled in the program and stopped paying the minimums as told. Well....this is where the fun began. I run my business out of our home, so the phone is always on and it is not possible to take it off the hook or ignore it. We started getting upwards of 50 calls a day from creditors. Starting promptly at 8am and going until 9pm EVERY SINGLE DAY-even on weekends! This whole situation has been so stressful to us to begin with that when the calls just kept coming in, we just could not take it. My wife was having terrible nightmares and chest pains - actually thinking one night that she was going to have a heart attack. I tried to be strong for her, but we were both terrified. This is not the kind of situation we ever wanted to find ourselves in. I work 12 hours a day and [my wife] was just too scared to answer the phone. We started taking the phone off the hook when I got home at night just to try to get some peace. This of course affected my business as I missed many calls, but we just did not now what else to do. My daughter bought us new phones that we could turn the ringer off and have them flash instead. This was helpful but if we didn't think to look for the flash, we still were missing calls. What a NIGHTMARE!! We were having these horrible thoughts that this would never end and would be like this for the next 2 1/2 years while we were in this program. It is very hard to keep your sanity when the phone rings 50+ times a day with hang ups or threatening messages. It makes you feel like a horrible person and a common loser. When you told us about the DAAN module for the phone we thought, what a GREAT idea. RELIEF!! Could it really be that simple? Well, we got the module and hooked it up right away. My daughter called us and we "zapped her" as my wife likes to say. She wanted to hear what it said so we knew what the creditors would hear. We were so impressed! One little box could handle this situation? We have been using it for a few weeks now. Our calls have DRAMATICALLY decreased to about 6-7 calls a day. UNBELIEVABLE!!! My wife and I have gotten used to answering the phone now and saying "who's calling please" and them we "zap them"! (my wife came up with that!) This little box has made life bearable again. Thursday evening I was approached by an administrator of one of our DAAN attorneys.
